Our Journey on Scolamanzi II

Meeting Scolamanzi in Seattle was beyond expectations!

So… the packing has reached final stages! We were flying to the USA and at last we can now also benefit from the increased checked luggage allowance  (for some weird reason?) if you fly to the US!

We each qualify for 3 pieces … but,if I say pieces …I mean crates !…Massive CRATES!  All boat gear we kept from our previous yacht will save us a bit of money and not having to spend time and effort to acquire it, is worth the effort lugging it thru the airports.  Aeon is part of our luggage down to Brisbane. He spent some time with us before our cruise.

The travelling will not be light this time! :(

Our little grandson’s last visit for some time to come 🙁 Wish we could take him along!

Arriving in Seattle with shivers and a viral infection was not ideal, but nothing fixes body aches and pain as quick as adrenaline!

Trying to sleep off the jetlag and virus in a very cold cabin... whatever was lying around had to double as blanket! :)

We went straight from the airport to Elliot Bay Marina and stepping on the boat for the first time, walking through the door … just blow me away! The wood work and finishing touches was just absolutely fabulous! I love the bench top of Black Galaxy granite (Johann was very concerned about my choice there!) and I love the feel of the boat.. it is a home!

I do not want to leave!!

The weather was beautiful and seeing her with Mt Renier and the skyscrapers of Seattle in the background was a sight to behold!
